In this article, we'll describe methods for administrators to share CPD resources in Learn. These methods can help Users explore available CPD learning materials, giving them the freedom to select their CPD path and meet their CPD targets.
This is valuable as it allows Users to take charge of their CPD journey, choosing from available resources for skill development. Managers can also engage in discussions and development planning by enrolling Users in CPD resources.
Create a CPD Catalogue and assign it to a Group
- Create a Catalogue containing CPD learning, e.g. CIPD Catalogue
- Assign the Catalogue to a Group
- Users within that Group will have access to the Catalogue, enabling them to choose Courses from it
Use keywords in Course descriptions
If you include specific text like 'CPD qualifying learning' in the description of a course. This helps Users identify CPD qualifying courses more easily
When Users search for courses, Learn checks for Course and Lesson titles as well as descriptions:
Share recommend and mandate a course
Consider switching on the 'sharing and recommendations' feature in Learn LMS. Encourage Users to use the feature to share CPD Courses with other CPD Users. If 'mandatory assignment' is switched on for Managers, they can make Courses mandatory for their reports and linked to development discussions/review meetings
Promote a Course on the Learn homepage
Consider this option carefully as promoted courses display for all users. If a user is not enrolled to the promoted course, they will not be able to launch it.
