In this article, we'll show how to give Learners and Managers a summary view of CPD progress.
When a CPD programme(s) is created, Learn admins can monitor progress in Reporting and analytics via the Fixed CPD report. To help Learners keep track of progress, it is also possible to activate a summary of CPD progress, showing any CPD programme that they are part of and their progress towards it.
We'll cover:
Note that the dashboard will be switched off by default. If switched on for all users, and someone isn't part of a CPD programme they will see the below message. You can configure the CPD view to show for only relevant users as well.
Additionally, having the CPD Learner view turned off will not impact CPD reporting.
The Learner view
Learners will see a summary view here, in the 'My Courses' area:
The dashboard shows:
- The duration of the CPD period
- The total required points or hours
- Progress so far (in the form of 'still to do')
- Any accredited learning that is required
- Any Mandatory learning still to do
- The date completed (this will be blank if not yet complete)
Note: If a user is suspended from a CPD programme they will see a 'Not required' status in the 'Date completed' column
Export a CPD record
A Learner can also export the learning records for a CPD programme via the Action button. This will give them a CSV export showing:
- The Lesson name(s) they have completed that has contributed towards that CPD period
- The date the Lesson(s) was completed
- The value of the Lesson(s) (Points or hours)
- If the Lesson(s) was a mandatory lesson
- If the Lesson(s) was an Accredited Lesson
The Manager view
A Manager will also get a summary of CPD progress for their direct reports. This will show the same information as the Learner's view. Managers will see the information in their manager dashboard when viewing the learning activity for an individual team member:
Steps to switch on/off the CPD Learner dashboard
You can switch the CPD view on for all Users or for selected groups only. You can do this by:
- Browse to Learn admin
- Select Settings
- Select CPD from the Settings Administration menu:
- To turn the CPD dashboard on for all Users toggle the switch to 'Yes'. This means all users will see the CPD pages regardless of whether they are in a CPD programme (skip to step 5 to turn the dashboard on for specific individuals and Groups only):
- To turn the dashboard on for specific individuals and Groups only, toggle the switch to 'No'
- Select the individuals and Groups who should see the dashboard:
Note: If you enable CPD for a group then the managers of any user in the group will get the CPD view enabled on their 'my team' page.
There is a secondary toggle that acts like an on/off switch. Once this is turned on, the configuration you've set up for all users or groups will only be visible. This means you can configure your CPD views and only make them visible when you've finished setting up the required users.
