In this article, we'll walk through the email settings for Learn LMS.
Steps to view email settings
- In Learn admin, browse to settings:
- Select 'Email' from the Settings administration menu. Scroll down to see the email settings:
Setting | Description |
Send all emails |
The ‘Business as Usual’ setting for most customers. Emails are generated and sent as expected. |
Process all emails, but do not send |
This option prevents all Learn emails from being sent (note that this does not prevent KIP emails from being sent). This may be applied when testing and making changes to the site configuration for example when Learn is first being configured, and it is not desirable to send numerous emails to large numbers of employees. |
Use built-in/default editor for sending emails | The ‘Send email’ option appears in the Administration menu for Users, Groups, Courses, Lessons and Events. The editor used to compose these emails allows plain text only. If greater functionality is required (for example the ability to attach files) then an organisations own email application (for example Outlook) can be used instead of the built-in editor. |
Copy automated email notifications to 'reply to' address | When selected, all automated notifications sent by the Kallidus batch processor are copied to the email specified in the ‘Reply to' address field’ |
Copy all emails to the personal message board |
Select this option and message will be sent by email AND will appear in the Personal message board (or notifications panel in Learn. A copy of all messages recieved by a user is saved in their profile. To view past messages, an administrator must browse to a Users’ profile and select the ‘View’ button from the ‘Optional Information’ section. When a User dismisses a message from the notification panel in Learn, it will appear in this list as a ‘read’ message. |
Send Calendar items | Enables iCalendar attachments for reminders, course deadlines, event invitations etc. By default, such messages are sent as private. It may be desirable to edit iCalendar messages to be public by default (for example, so that a manager can view the detail of an appointment in a team members’ calendar). |
