The Business Outcomes Report provides valuable insights into:
- How individual objectives align with your business goals
- How your people are developing the skills needed to achieve those goals
- How actively they are working toward those objectives
By correlating your performance management activities with business outcomes, this report helps you uncover the tangible impact of performance and development on organisational success.
This report goes beyond surface-level metrics
The report shows whether your performance management efforts are driving meaningful results. Based on the analysis, you may see scenarios such as:
- Strong alignment: Business goals are being achieved, and performance management activities clearly support this success
- Goals achieved, but limited support: Goals are met, but performance management does not appear to be a contributing factor
- Goals not achieved, but strong effort: Goals are falling short despite significant activity and support in performance management
- Weak alignment: Goals are not being met, and performance management does not support them - indicating a concerning disconnect.
These insights help you identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
What does the report include?
The report contains key data points, such as:
- Number of active global objectives and their status (on track vs. off track)
- Number of active individual objectives and how many are linked to global objectives
- Number of people with linked individual objectives vs. those without
- Number of active development activities linked to global objectives
- Number of skills linked to global objectives
- Frequency of interactions with Perform related to global objectives
Tip: Effective filtering and drill-through options allow you to focus on the areas most important to your organisation.
What data does the system need?
To correlate your performance management process with business success, you must first capture your organisation’s current position.
This includes recording whether your global objectives are on track or off track, along with any supporting metrics. View Create a global objective for more information.
Additionally, encourage users to link their individual objectives to your global objectives and connect their development activities to those objectives. This linking provides essential context for their actions and powers the insights in this report.

- You must be using global objectives in Perform for this report to contain meaningful data
- Filtering is key to getting the most from this report
- Drill-through from the main dashboard table makes it easy to focus on what matters most
