In this article, we'll explain the differences when importing SCORM 2004 content into Learn LMS. In addition to the summary detail available when publishing content to SCORM1.2, SCORM2004 can report the answers to individual questions. This can be valuable information for L&D teams, as it can help to identify any questions that are consistently being answered incorrectly. This may indicate that either the quiz question or the eLearning itself is unclear.
Background
The process for importing SCORM 2004 content is the same as the process for importing all SCORM, PDF, XLS, PPT and Word files, however, once imported, an additional 'child' Lesson is created, through which the lesson level detail is reported to Learn LMS. In this article, we'll explain how to handle the additional child Lesson.

About the child Lesson
Every time SCORM 2004 content is imported, Learn will create a second Lesson. This is known as a child Lesson (the learning you selected to import becomes the 'Parent' Lesson). The Child Lesson is not a duplicate. The Child Lesson:
- is used to report the question-level data to Learn
- is never visible to learners - even if assigned
- cannot be independently deleted (it can only be deleted by deleting the parent)
- cannot be subject to Lesson prerequisites
- does not need to remain assigned to the Course with which it was created
The below message is visible on every child Lesson. Note that the Delete and Copy buttons are not available:
What to do with the child Lesson
Child Lessons will exist for as long as their Parent Lesson exists, however, they don't need to be assigned together. To keep Learn neat and tidy, many customers unassign the child Lesson from all Courses and prefix the title and code with 'ZZZ' in order that it appears right at the end of the (alphabetical) list of Lessons.
