In this article, we'll explain the purpose of the options that appear in the Course Administration menu, which is visible whenever an Event is created.
Course administration options
Details | General information about the selected Course |
Custom fields | Custom fields are used throughout Learn to record and report information where no default field exists for that purpose. For Courses, that might be the Vendor, general notes, update detail, owner. etc. View this article to find out more about Custom Fields and how they can be used to record and report on highly specific details about Events in your LMS. |
Availability |
Choose a specific or relative date after which this course will no longer be accessible. Configure notifications to alert assigned users when the deadline approaches |
Deadline |
Set a specific or relative date by which this course must be completed. Users, tutors, and/or managers can receive notifications as the deadline approaches. For more details, refer to ‘Set a deadline for a Course’ |
Catalogue |
Assign this Course to a Catalogue, making it an optional choice for users who have access to that Catalogue |
Lesson |
View and edit Lesson assignments. |
Group |
Assign the Course to a Group. Users in this Group will be required to complete the Course, and it will appear in 'Courses I have to do' |
User |
Assign the Course directly to an individual User. This will make the Course mandatory for that User, and it will appear in their 'Courses I have to do' section. |
Administrators | Designate users as administrators of the course for reporting and administration purposes. Course administrators have access to all Business Objects reports for that course, and they can edit course details, assign users, groups, and catalogues. Note: To view reports, the user's LMS role must have the necessary permissions. |
Results | Access detailed results for individual Users who have completed this Course |
Ratings |
Review user ratings for this Course, which are listed here. The "All Courses" category in 'My Courses' displays all available Courses, ordered by the highest rating. |
Evaluation form |
Enable or disable evaluations for this Course and select the preferred evaluation form |
Book event |
This option is applicable to Instructor-led Lessons. It allows for the direct booking of individual Users onto an Event associated with the selected Course |
Deep link |
A link to share externally that will direct learners straight to this Course. This is the same link as is shared with the 'Share and recommend learning' feature |
Email templates |
Customise the email templates used for notifications related to this specific Course, overriding the default email templates. This feature enables the creation of emails tailored to a Course, such as including a map or specific course-related instructions. |
Send email |
Send an ad-hoc email related to this course to all enrolled Users. You can also include other stakeholders and Administrators by using the CC field |
Report |
HTML reports are available within Learn. They offer real-time data, but please note that unlike Business Objects reports, they cannot be customised or scheduled |
