In this article, we'll show how to assign colleagues as an Event administrator, so they can share day-to-day admin for Events and reduce the admin burden on the LMS admin team.
An Event Administrator can manage every aspect of an Event for which they are an administrator, including receiving notifications relating to the Event and acting as an Event approver. For example, permission might not be needed to go on a course, but a User may need to request permission to book a specific Event date.
Many organisations give their trainers the 'Event administrator' role so that they can:
- Update Event attendance as soon as the Event closes
- Print a register of attendees
- Book places for colleagues who turn up to an Event without having booked a place
Steps to assign the LMS role 'Tutor' to a colleague
To be nominated as an Event Administrator, a User must have the LMS role of 'Tutor'. Here's how to set that up:
- In Learn admin, browse to Settings:
- Choose the option 'LMS roles' from the administration menu
- Select the LMS role 'Tutor' from the list of LMS Roles. (this is the minimum level of access a User must have to be nominated as Administrator for an Event)
- Select 'User' from the role administration menu:
- Select the User who you would like to have the 'Tutor' role
- Select 'Submit' to save the role assignment
Steps to specify a User as Administrator for an Event
- Navigate to any Event in Learn
- Choose 'Select', alongside the Administrator option
- Select the person from the list
- Select 'Submit' to save
