In this article, we explore how managers can express recognition and appreciation for their team members through the 'Give Kudos' feature. Providing feedback is a simple yet effective way for managers to acknowledge outstanding performance, commend top learners, or recognise commendable progress in mandatory and repeat learning assignments. This not only fosters a sense of value for team members but also serves as positive reinforcement, promoting ongoing engagement in learning activities.
Steps to send 'Kudos' to a team member
Managers have 2 options for this:
Follow the steps below for the way the Kudos is to be given:
My team - Team Summary
- Select the 'Team Summary' tab:
- Select the team member to give 'Kudos' to
- Select 'Give Kudos':
- Select 'Send' to issue the default Kudos notification or revise the wording as required:
- That's it and the Team Member will receive a Kudos notification from their manager
My Team - Top Learners
- Select the 'Top learners' tab:
- Select 'Give Kudos' on for the Team member you want to recognise:
- Select 'Send' to issue the default Kudos notification or revise the wording as required:
- That's it and the Team Member will receive a Kudos notification from their manager
What do Team Members receive
When a manager sends 'Kudos' the team member will receive a notification from them. Here is an example using a default message example:
The default Kudos notification
Administrators can choose what the default message includes. This is done in 'Settings' against the email template 'GiveKudos'.
View 'Learn - Edit an email template' for details on how to change information in the default notification templates.

Hi!
Thanks for the video. No mention of whether the manager can change the text on the kudos message?
