In this article, we'll guide you on creating a document upload Lesson.
Document upload Lessons are designed to allow Learners to submit proof of training completed outside of Learn. Examples include certificates for external Courses like First Aid or professional qualifications such as CIPD. This feature ensures that achievements are accurately recorded and supports compliance reporting for learning activities completed outside of Learn.
Additional information
- A document upload Lesson is marked as 'complete' as soon as the learner has uploaded their document
- Accepted file types to upload include PDF, JPG, BMP and DOCX
- The maximum file size learners can upload is 15MB
Steps to create a document upload Lesson
- Browse to the Lesson area of admin home:
- Select New:
- Select eLearning from the drop-down options for Lesson type:
- Add in a Title. This will be visible to the learner, so add a title that is meaningful and that clearly conveys the purpose of the Document Upload Lesson:
- Add information to Instructions for the learner. This will be visible to learners to tell them what they need to do, thus may upload a certificate received from an external training provider to show their achievement
- Add a Code. This is only visible to administrators to allow easier identification for reporting etc.
- Optional - Add a Category. This is only visible to administrators. While Lesson Category is optional, using categories helps organise content as more Lessons are added to Learn
- Select Create
That's it and the Document Upload Lesson is created and is ready to be linked to Courses as required.
