It’s essential for employees to have visibility of the Skills that matter for their role. In this article, we'll introduce the Skills dashboard and explain what it shows and when learners will see it.
When a learner is assigned Skills, either through a skills profile or direct assignment, the Skills dashboard will be visible in the learner view. The dashboard provides a clear and accessible view of the skills an employee should develop, along with links to relevant learning content to support their growth.
A few things to know about the learner Skills dashboard:
- Users will only see the Skills dashboard once they have had at least one skill assigned to them
- Skills can be assigned via a Skill profile, direct assignment or by the user completing an auto boosted lesson for that skill
- Only content that has been tagged with that Skill will show on the skills dashboard
- Lessons can be tagged with Skills manually or using the bulk AI tool
- Skill evidence to track all activity against a skill and changed to their skill levels
Note: When Skill levels are introduced, the Learner’s skill dashboard will provide even more insight. It will display the learner's current skill level alongside the required target level to help guide their development.
What does a user see on their dashboard?
The skills dashboard will show:
- All skills assigned to them
- Where the skill has come from; the profile name or a General skill (direct assignment)
- Courses related to the skill
- Skill evidence
- Target level and available levels (if configured)
- Request a level change
- See what each skill level means
Find relevant content for a skill
Select 'View details' in the Learner dashboard, and all Courses linked to that Skill will be listed. In this example, 'View details' is selected for the Active listening Skill:
See what each Skill level means
When you've drilled down into a skill in the top banner there is an information button that will show the number of levels available (if configured) and the description for that skill level
See your Skill evidence
The skill evidence is designed to show activity for a user against that skill. There are two sections:
Level updates - view any automatically boosted skills, manager approved level changes and pending level update requests
Completed lessons - any content that has been completed that has been tagged with that skill
Note: If a skill is deleted from the skills library by an Admin, the entries will remain as evidence
