Automatic skill boosting is a way to automatically update a Learner's skill level when they complete a relevant lesson or are signed off after a competency check.
This makes it easier to recognise progress and reduce admin, especially when your learning content already aligns with your skill framework.
Some things to know about automatic skills boosting:
- Lessons must be tagged with a skill before auto boosting can be switched on. Lessons can be tagged manually or tagged in bulk using AI
- You can switch auto boosting on for any lesson or competency check
- You must select the skill level that the learner will be boosted to upon completion of the lesson or competency check
- Auto boosting will not reduce a Learner's skill level, even if they complete a lesson or competency check that is at a lower skill level than they have achieved
- If the Learner has already achieved the level set for the lesson or competency check they've completed, they will stay at that level and not be boosted to a higher level
- If a Learner completes a lesson that has auto boosting switched on for a skill that they haven't been assigned, they will gain this skill as a 'General skill' and be boosted to the level set for that lesson
Setting up automatic skill boosting for a lesson or competency check:
- Hover over Courses and select either Lesson or Competency Check
- Select the Lesson or Competency Check
- Select Skills
- Select Actions next to the skill you want to set up with skill boosting
- Select Edit
- Select the target level for the skill for that Lesson or Competency Check
- Select Auto boost skill when completing Lesson or Auto boost skill when completing Competency Check
- Select Save
Viewing evidence for a skill
If a skill has been boosted through a completed lesson or competency check, it will appear in the Learner's Skills dashboard under Evidence of skills.
