Learn update 3rd October 2024: Learn API update, CPD improvements including new Manager view

Here's what's new and what's fixed in the 3rd October 2024 release:

What's fixed

• We have improved the clarity of the My Teams dashboard when a lesson is repeated
• Where Accreditations are assigned directly to Users, expiry reminders and visibility in the Accreditation dashboard are now aligned with group assignments (see Accreditation expiry reminders for more detail)
• Complex passwords now permitted in the 'New password' page for IDS
• Fixed an issue where User Generated Content not showing Closed Captions for moderators
• Fixed an issue where the Competency checks page was showing for Managers when feature not enabled
• Resolved 404 error on the CPD programme page when spaces were added before the title

Learn API updates 

This update enables a new API Gateway to support authentication via OAuth2 as part of our ongoing improvements to our Learn APIs. It will also allow customers to build integrations between Learn and third-party systems. This API will support the following:

• Create a Course category or use an existing one
• Create a Course
• Create a Lesson
• Creating or updating a learning record result

CPD view for Managers 

With the recent release of the CPD view for Learners we have now released a view for the Manager as well. This will show the same information the learner sees in a 'read-only' format. This can be found when a Manager drills down into the individual view of a direct report:

Export CPD Record for Learners 

A Learner can also export the learning records for a CPD programme via a new action button. This will give them a CSV export showing:

• The lesson name they have completed that has contributed towards that CPD period
• The date it was completed
• The value it was worth (Points or hours)
• If it was a mandatory lesson
• If it was an Accredited Lesson

Show 'Not Required' status for Learners and Managers when appropriate 

In addition to the Learner CPD view that when a user is suspended from a CPD Programme this status will display for the Learner and Manager in the 'date complete' column to let them know it isn't currently required. View Suspend a User's participation on a CPD programme for more detail.
