The Kallidus offline app enables your learners to download eLearning and view when offline. When they reconnect, their progress or result will be updated within Learn.
Lessons will disappear from the list in the app after 30 days. They can be redownloaded to the device again and the learner can then continue with their learning.
The App will work on the latest version of iOS and Android (mobile only not tablet). The app is ‘off’ by default and can be switched on in the Settings area of admin.
There is a starter template for communications you can send attached to this article. Please use this as a basis for your communication to your learners.
How do I switch this on for my organisation?
The App can be switched on for your whole organisation. To do this, go to Settings and go to Offline app.
What will your learners see?
Your learners will be invited to install the app the next time they go into Learn on either an iOS or Android device.
If your learners choose not to install it initially then they can install the app at any time by going to the menu in the top right and selecting Add to home screen.
Once installed, your learners can start to download e-learning lessons. To do this, they need to find that lesson within Learn and select the More menu. This will display a menu on which they can choose to download that lesson.
Once courses have been downloaded, they are available for use when offline – they sit within the Your downloaded lessons section of the app.
Preventing content from being downloaded
You can choose which lessons your learners can download. By default, lessons are set to being downloadable. If, for any reason, you wish to make a lesson not downloadable then you can do this.
Go to the lesson and go to the eLearning set-up page. You can set whether a lesson is downloadable using the option below.
