What language packs are supported in Learn?
A range of languages are supported. View Supported languages for the full list.
What does a language pack translate?
The language pack translates the User interface (menus, buttons, headers) and standard email templates.
How can I activate language packs?
Please contact your Kallidus representative for more information.
How can the language pack be set for each User?
A Users' preferred language can be set by the Automated people-data feed, or Users can select their preferred language in the 'My details' area of their profile in Learn:
Our recommendation is to include the User’s preferred language in the Automated people-data feed (if set up for your Learn). This ensures that the User will see the UI and content in their chosen language when logging in.
Having this information in a user's profile also means that administrators can easily assign content in the user's preferred language and report on different languages.
Note that Learn LMS Administrators can set the language under a User's profile using the 'Language Theme' dropdown.
How do language packs work with email templates?
All of the default email templates will be translated into each of the languages set up in your system.
Where custom email templates are used, Administrators must translate the text into the languages required, and manually update for each template.
Note that Identity/registration emails are available in multiple languages.
How can I add content in different languages?
Once language packs are enabled, make a selection from the languages drop-down menu, and enter the manually translated text in the course/lesson title and course/lesson description in the selected language. This can be repeated for every language pack activated in Learn.
How do language packs work with Kallidus OTS content?
The OTS content includes 100+ languages. After launching the course, the user can select their preferred language from the drop-down menu (this is built-in by default; language packs aren't required for OTS content).
How do language packs work with third-party content?
Please contact the content publisher/vendor. Content will often use Google Translate to generate closed captioning.
The best case scenario is to have (or create) content that allows the User to switch languages, such as with Kallidus off-the-shelf content.
If that's not possible, the next best option is to publish a SCORM package for each language and upload it individually to the Lesson in Learn.

How does the language pack work across multiple products?
Language packs are purchased separately for each Kallidus product. Users can choose which language they prefer to use in each product.
How can I translate the text for custom emails I've created?
Google Translate is a great resource for translations, but it's not always accurate. We recommend that you ask a translator/bilingual person at your company to check for accuracy before using.
