This article provides an overview of the key global settings available in Perform, including where to find them, how they work when enabled, and any important considerations before switching them on. It also highlights additional resources for each feature to help you make informed decisions.
You’ll also find a section on optional features that can further tailor the platform to your organisation’s needs. Please note that these options are not user-configurable and must be enabled or disabled by our support team on your behalf.
We'll cover:
- Where to access global settings
- AI features:
- Enable Group Administrators
- Skills in Perform
- Weighted objectives
- Optional features (enabled by Kallidus support)
Where to access global settings
From the Perform admin menu select Settings (must be a Perform administrator to view the Settings page):
Ai features
AI use is tightly controlled, with all features transparent and optional. User-facing AI is disabled by default, and administrators have explicit control over if, where, and how it is enabled. Every use of AI is reviewed through a formal governance process to ensure it meets legal, ethical, and business standards.
View Use of AI in Kallidus products for more details.
AI smart objectives
Once the feature is switched on, Users can request AI assistance when creating objectives:
View Use AI SMART objectives to help your people write better SMART Objectives for more details.
Ai actions in Reviews
Sometimes a review may conclude without clear next steps, leading to limited follow-through. The Review Actions section provides a dedicated space for both the reviewer and the reviewee to clearly identify and agree on specific actions moving forward.
Additionally, Perform can leverage AI to generate a tailored list of recommended review actions for both parties, based on the content of the review form.
View Build a review template using Sections to find out more about the Review actions section with Ai.
AI assistant in Development activities
When enabled, this feature helps users and their managers create meaningful and effective development activities. The AI assistant takes an existing development activity and suggests five practical steps to help complete it.
This is especially useful for anyone who may be unsure where to start, needs inspiration to move forward, or wants to refine and strengthen their existing ideas.
View How to Create a Development activity (personal goal) for yourself to see the Ai assistant in action.
Permissions
Enable Group Administrators
With this option enabled, users assigned as Group Administrators can view and manage members of their designated Groups in Perform and view Perform reports for those members.
Carefully managing who is assigned this access is essential. Before switching it on, view Allow Group Administrators to view Group members in Perform for more information.
Skills
Display skills in Perform
This toggle controls whether skills are shown in Perform. Toggling it on will activate this functionality across your performance management process. Note: Skills will only be shown if you have one or more skills within your taxonomy.
View Skills 101 - skills in Perform for an overview of how skills appear in Perform.
Weighted objectives
Enable weighted objectives
When enabled, this feature lets you assign higher weights to objectives to indicate their importance to your organisation. Perform administrators can then choose whether a specific review template uses weighted objectives or the standard average objective rating scale. Objectives with greater weight contribute more to the overall objective rating than standard ratings.
A few things to know about weighted objectives:
- Weighted objectives are optional
- To appear in a review form, weighted objectives must be enabled before the template is published
- Learners and managers can adjust the weight of personal objectives
- Managers can set weights when assigning objectives to multiple team members
- Administrators can set weights when bulk assigning objectives
- Perform Administrators can assign and configure weights for global objectives*
View Weighted objectives: ensure focus on the most important goals for more details.
