As reports get larger, splitting the data into sections can be helpful. This can make the data easier to interpret. A few things to know about Sections in a report:
- Any tables and Charts contained within the report are repeated in each new section
- Sections can also be selected in the navigation map.
Steps to split a report into Sections
- Open a Business Objects report
- Select 'Design mode'
- Right-click a table column and select ‘Set as Section’
The report will now be split out into sections and can be navigated using the ‘Navigation Map’.
The Object now presented as a section header is removed from the table. The values for the Object become the header for each section.
Note: tables and charts can also be added by navigating to ‘Report Elements’ and selecting a Table or Chart style. Then, click the report in the location at which the new analysis should be created.
