In this article, we'll explain how to add an image or a logo to a Business Objects report. To achieve this, you'll need to
- Add a blank cell into which the image can be added
- Insert the image into the blank cell
- Remove the cell border
-
Set the repeat pattern for the image
- Resize the cell or amend the image size
Note that images do not resize to fit the cell into which they are inserted. Either the cell must be made bigger to accomodate the image, or the source image should be reduced in size. Images can be placed in a header, however they would not appear when the report is exported, or scheduled to Excel format.
Add a blank cell into which the image can be added
- Select the ‘Report Elements’ tab
- Select the ‘Cell’ tab
- Select ‘Blank’
- Click the location in the report at which the blank cell should be inserted (the cell can be moved at a later point if required):
Insert the image into the blank cell
- Right-click the cell, and select ‘Format cell’.
- Select ‘Appearance’
- Choose to add an image (either from a file or web address). Click ‘OK’ or ‘Apply’:
Remove the cell border
All new blank cells include a border along the bottom edge (this helps to locate an unselected blank cell on a report page). To remove the border
- Select ‘Border’
- Deselect the bottom border
Set the repeat pattern for the image
- Select ‘Layout’
- Set the properties to repeat the image on every new page. It is also possible to set a dynamic position for the cell, relative to other items (tables, charts etc) in the report.
- Select ‘OK’ to save
