In this article we'll show how to configure a report table to include a visual indication of the cell contents. For example, if a cell contains the Lesson Status “Not Started” it could be coloured red. If the cell contains the status ‘Complete’ it could be coloured green, and so on.
Steps to apply Conditional formatting
- Browse to Learn admin
- Select Reports and Analysis, and open a report
- Select 'Design Mode' at the top right of the report
- Select the column to which the conditional formatting will be applied (this makes an automatic selection in the next step).
- Select the ‘Analysis’ tab, and select ‘Conditional’:
- Select ‘New Rule’
- Enter a name and description for the rule
- Next, specify the condition that will trigger the formatting. Make a selection in the three fields: 'Filtered Object or cell', 'Operator', and 'Operands'. For example, to create a condition based on the ‘Not Started’ status, the following choices might be made:
- Select the ‘Format’ button in the ‘Cell contents’ box. Here, you can specify the colour that will be applied to a cell, when the conditional rule is met:
- To add further rules, select the 'Plus' arrow and repeat steps 8 and 9:
