Reporting - How do I see which optional Courses have had the most enrolments and completions? – Kallidus

In this article, we'll show how to find out which optional Courses have had the most enrolments and completions.*

We'll also:

Show how to drill-through and see which Users have completed a Course
Highlight additional filters for this scenario
Signpost options to export, save, and share results

To answer this question, we'll use the Learning progress report. Note that by default, the Learning Progress report is pre-set to include mandatory Course assignments only.

*A User is enrolled on a Course when it appears in either 'Courses I've done', or 'Courses I've chosen to do'

See which optional Courses have had the most enrolments and completions

Open the Learning progress report
Select the Course is mandatory? filter:
De-select Yes
Select No:
If you'd like to choose a specific selection of optional Courses, continue to step 5. To include all optional Courses, skip to step 7
Select the Course title filter
Select the Course(s) of interest to you. Use the search if required:
In the Courses summary panel, select View:

The resulting table lists all selected Courses, with a number/percent overview of the number of assignments and completions for each. Select any column to change the sort order. For example, select #user assignments to order the list by most/least assignments:

Drill through and see which Users have completed a Course

Hover over a row (or right-click) to see a drill through option. for the above data table, this can be used to see person-level information for a specific Course:

Additional filters for this scenario

There are two further filters applied by default to the Learning Progress report that you may choose to change; 'User is enabled' and 'Course is currently enrolled'. Both are set to 'Yes' by default:

User is enabled

De-select 'Yes' (or select 'No' in addition to 'Yes') and the report will include any Users who have left the organisation. They may have left, but their training activity can still be reported.

Course is currently enrolled

A User can remove an optional Course from 'Courses I've chosen to do' by selecting 'Remove Course'.

De-select 'Yes' (or select 'No' in addition to 'Yes') and 'removed' Courses will be included in this report. By This may give a better picture of how your people have engaged with the optional content.

Export, save, and share the results

Now you have the results, what next?

To print the screen straight to PDF, select CNTRL+P. Alternatively, use a snipping tool to grab a specific area.
