Sapling - Culture Amp Integration Guide

Introduction

The Kallidus Sapling platform helps HR and People Operations teams automate and streamline administrative tasks so they can focus on employee experience, retention, and creating an amazing culture for the most successful teams.​

Culture Amp is a maket-leading employee experience platform that helps you drive meaningful performance for your people while support their wellbeing and growth. 

With the Culture Amp integration, Sapling will:

• Create Users in Culture Amp: New users in Sapling will automatically be created in Culture Amp 

• Update User Attributes: If a user profile is updated in Sapling, the corresponding user profile will be updated in Culture Amp

• Deactivate Users: If a user is offboarded in Sapling, the corresponding user in Culture Amp will be automatically be deactivated in Culture Amp

How it Works

Create Users

• When a new user is onboarded in Sapling, they'll be created in Culture Amp

  • Following the export schedule of the report configured for the integration

  • If their user attributes align with the filters of the report 

• The new user will then be invited to Culture Amp based on your company settings in Culture Amp

Update User Attributes

• When a user profile is updated in Sapling, the corresponding user profile will be updated in Culture Amp

  • Following the export schedule of the report configured for the integration

  • If their user attributes align with the filters of the report 

• Check out the Supported Fields section for what fields are synced from Sapling to Culture Amp for user updates

Deactivate Users

• When a user is offboarded in Sapling, the corresponding user in Culture Amp will be deactivated

  • When their termination date is reached in Culture Amp

  • If their termination date has been previously synced as a user update

Before Enabling the Integration

Please note you'll need Super Admin access in Sapling, and Account Administrator or Employee Data Administrator access in Culture Amp to configure this integration. We recommend working with your IT team directly should you have any difficulties with SFTP setup. 

Setting Up the Integration

Part 1: Generate your SFTP credentials in Culture Amp

1. Follow these instructions to generate your Culture Amp SFTP credentials. You'll need the following details for Part 2:
   • Host
   • Username
   • Password or public key
   • Port 
   • Path

Part 2: Connect to your Culture Amp SFTP in Sapling

1. Using your Culture Amp SFTP credentials from Part 1, follow these instructions to connect to an SFTP space in Sapling. You'll need the name of the SFTP space for Part 3.

Part 3: Create a dedicated Profile Info report

1. Follow these instructions to create a dedicated Profile Info report for your Culture Amp integration
2. Using the SFTP space from Part 2, follow these instructions to export a report to an SFTP space
3. On the final step of setting up the report export, enable the "Format report for Culture Amp integration" checkbox

Key Factors to be aware of

Field Name Matching

• For the fields to sync correctly, the naming conventions between Sapling and Namely for both the fields names and field values (for dropdown fields) must be exactly as detailed in the Supported Fields section
