In this article, I will walk you through editing a Working Pattern and the impact of changing an existing Working Pattern.
Impact of Editing a Working Pattern
Editing a Working Pattern will impact the existing balances of employees assigned that Working Pattern if days/ hours are changed. Remember, if you are changing a full-time working pattern or where employees work full days, check the Full-time equivalent settings.
Steps to edit a Working Pattern:
- Go to Administration Tools
- Select Working Patterns
- Select which working pattern you want to Edit by clicking Actions > Edit.
- Editing will open the Working Pattern and allow you to change the working days and hours.
- Once you are done editing, click "Save" at the bottom of the page, and a pop-up will appear asking when you would like the change to become effective. If you select today's date, the changes will become effective immediately. You can also set the change for a date in the future.

Turning off a Working Pattern
If you do not want the working pattern to be available to assign to employees, you can toggle the working pattern status to off. If a Working pattern has been toggled off and already assigned to an employee, the working pattern will still be assigned, and all time-off calculations will be based on the assigned working pattern.
