The Event Management and Analysis report contains a high-level summary metric for cancellations - but what else can you learn about User cancellations?
In this article, we'll cover:
- Event cancellation settings in Learn LMS
- Steps to identify the people/teams/Lessons with the most Event cancellations
- Track how long before the event users cancel their attendance
- Event cancellation reasons
Event cancellation settings in Learn LMS
To see the big picture of Event cancellations, you'll first need to review Event settings.
Who can cancel an Event?
Events can be cancelled by LMS administrators or by Users. Note that User cancellation is available only if in Event | Booking Management, the option 'Allow users to cancel the event' is selected: Users must cancel directly in Learn LMS. Alternatively, it is possible to set up bi-directional Event management for Outlook. With this enabled, Users can cancel Events directly from Outlook.
Note that it is possible to set this checkbox by default for all new Events created. It is also possible to set this checkbox by default for all future Events created for a specific Lesson.
What are Event 'reasons'?
Event Cancellation reasons can be populated by Event administrators when updating attendance for an Event:
Event reasons are created and managed in the global settings for Events.
Steps to identify the people/teams/Lessons with the most Event cancellations
- Open the Event management and analysis report
- Select the Cancellations panel:
- A table listing all Users who cancelled an Event will be displayed. Select the Name column. All Users will be alphabetically listed. People who have cancelled the most will be listed more often:
From here, select any other column to sort the list by that value.
For example, you may wish to sort by Primary Group to see which Group contains the Users with the most cancellations. Or you may wish to sort by the Lesson title column to see which Lesson has the Users with the most cancellations.
Track how long before the event Users cancel their attendance
The table also includes details about the date/time the Event was cancelled and the time the Event was due to take place:
If required, the table visualisation could be exported to XLS for further analysis of the typical gap between cancellation and Event date.
Event cancellation reasons
The table also includes a column for Event cancellation reason:
Export, save, and share the results
Now you have the results, what next?
- Save and share a report view
- Organise report views into groups
- Export a table visual straight to Excel
To print the screen straight to PDF, select CNTRL+P. Alternatively, use a snipping tool to grab a specific area.
