Reporting - How can I find out which Events have the highest and lowest attendance?

In this article, we'll show how to find out which Events have the highest and lowest attendance. LMS administrators can use this information to evaluate overall engagement and participation, for example to: 

  • Identify and address reasons for low attendance
  • Track attendance as a key performance indicator
  • Tailor offerings to attract more participants

To answer this question, we'll use the Event management and analysis report. 

Steps to find the Events with the highest or lowest attendance

  1. Open the Event management and analysis report
  2. Select the Event start date filter:REPORTING_Events_Select_EventStartDateFilter.png
  3. Select is before from the 'Show items when the value' drop-down menu
  4. Enter today's date (or another date if preferred)
  5. Select Apply filter:REPORTING_Events_Select_Apply_EventStartDateFilter.png
  6. Select All Events:REPORTING_Events_Select_AllEvents.png
  7. A table listing All Events with a date in the past will be listed. Scroll to the right, and select the #attendees column title. The column will be sorted to show the Event with the highest number of attendees:REPORTING_Events_Select_AttendeesColumn.png
  8. Select the #attendees column title again. The sort order will be reversed. The Event with the fewest attendees will now be listed at the top:REPORTING_Events_Select_AttendeesColumnAgain.png

Note that the summary dashboard also contains a metric for 'Empty events'. Select this option to see a list of all Events where there were no bookings at all:REPORTING_Events_EmptyEvents.png

Export, save, and share the results

Now you have the results, what next? 

To print the screen straight to PDF, select CNTRL+P. Alternatively, use a snipping tool to grab a specific area.
