Introduction
When onboarding or offboarding team members into or out of your organization, People Operations teams often rely on multiple pieces of information that need to be collected from the team member's manager.
This often includes items such as:
- What type of hardware do they need?
- What systems are required?
- Do they require IT to ship a laptop out?
Sapling’s Manager Form collects all the information needed directly from the team member's manager before the new hire starts or before the last day of an existing team member.

How to configure the manager form?
Step#1: Setting up the manager fields
- This can be done by going to Administration Tools > Profile Setup > All fields
- *Please note you need to be a Super Admin or Admins with permissions to the Profile Setup.
- When creating or editing a field, you can configure the fields to be collected from the Manager.
Step#2: Assigning the manager fields to profile templates
- Navigate to Administration Tools
- Click on Profile Setup > All Profile templates
- You will then be able to edit the Onboarding or Offboarding templates and assign any manager fields
- Once the manager fields have been added to a template, and then you can choose to make them required
Step#3: Setting up the manager alert notifications
- Navigate to Administration Tools
- Click on Outbox > Notifications > People
- You will then see the options to edit and enable the alerts for both the Onboarding and Offboarding flow.
When the onboarding and offboarding flow is completed, the assigned Manager will receive the following:
- An email indicating that they have information to complete for their direct report
When clicking on the "complete required information", the manager will be redirected to complete a form where they will easily be able to fill out all of their required information.
- An in-application alert indicating information to complete for their direct report
When the Manager Form is completed, the information will be added to the team member's record and the Admin will receive a notification letting them know that the information has been completed by the manager.
- This can be set up for both Onboarding and Offboarding manager forms
