Then we looked at how collaborative learning feed into business outcomes, using the four pillars: Risk, Retention, Productivity and Revenue. Learning from peers can really support with retention and people feeling well supported in their roles. It can also enhance productivity through sharing the knowledge across the organisation, not just in more formal settings directed by the learning team. This in turn can positively impact revenue.
How can you capture collaborative learning that is happening already?
- Encouraging individuals to record it in Kallidus
- Using video to capture learning in action and share it further
- Switching on user-generated content and incentivising people to use it
How can you facilitate opportunities for collaborative learning?
- Organise podcasts and TED talks for people across the organisation to share what they know
- Set up group chats following formal training, to create a space for the group to return to and continue to learn from each other
- Organise a coffee chat roulette
- Email newsletter that includes top tips from different people
- Use rewards and competitions to incentivise engagement
- Consider how both operational and office staff can engage with any initiatives
