Sapling - View-As Mode

Introduction

With the View As tool, Super Admins can preview what the Sapling platform looks like from another team member's perspective.

This is meant to help Super Admins better understand team member permissions. You can also use this tool to assist your colleagues with Sapling troubleshooting and navigation.

How to use it?

To begin viewing Sapling from a teammate's perspective, head over to their Sapling profile. You can locate anyone by searching for them in the navigation bar, or through the People Directory.

Once you're on a profile page, click on the "Actions" menu in the upper-righthand corner. Select "Views As" to begin viewing Sapling from that team member's perspective.

You’ll see a banner on the top of the page letting you know that you’re viewing as someone else, who you’re logged in as, and the permission level associated with that user.

Once you’re done, click on the "End Session" button in the top righthand corner. This will complete your 'View As' session and go back to your normal Sapling account.

Pro Tips 💡

• This tool allows you to preview Sapling in “read-only” mode, meaning that you cannot make changes to personal information, time off requests, or any other actions on behalf of the user
• This feature is available to Super Admins only
