In this article, we'll summarise the fixed reports available for Learn and Perform, and explain how you'll use them to keep track of your people's learning and development, and ensure your platform is neat, tidy, and running smoothly.
Note that when stakeholders are given access to reporting and analytics, their view of the data will be limited by the Security model.
When you need a report that's unique to you then it's time to build a report from scratch, so we'll also share key detail for user created reports.
We'll cover:
- Fixed reports for Learn LMS
- Fixed reports for Perform
- Navigating the fixed reports
- Introduction to User-created reports
- Access to Power BI, updates, and FAQ
First let's take a walkthrough of analytics and reporting with Product Manager, Dan Megson:

Navigating the Fixed reports
Every Fixed report includes a selection of pre-defined filters, which you can use to drill into the detail that matters - and once a report is filtered, you can save the view for next time, or to share with a colleague.

User created reports
When you need a report that's unique to you, then it's time to build a report from scratch. Start by watching a walkthrough of the Power BI embedded interface.
Understanding datasets
Datasets are at the heart of User created reports.
When you start a new report you'll be prompted to select a Dataset. This will include Data fields - information such as Name, Title, Course title etc. and measures. Measures are pre-built calculations with numeric data. For example, the % of enabled Users or the number of Users with a 'Not started' status for a Course.
The Dataset selected will determine the Data folders available and the Data Fields available to include in the report. Find out more about the available datasets.
