In this article, we'll explain how to streamline User login for employees in organisations where mixed authentication environments are used.
When activated, the feature allows SSO Users to log in directly using a specific link, bypassing the login page entirely. Similarly, it enables Username+Password Users to navigate directly to their login page without having to select their login method first.
This option eliminates the risk of Users selecting the wrong login method, minimising the need for support from the admin team, and enhances the overall experience.
Note: This feature is not applicable if your organisation uses either 100% SSO or 100% Username+Password authentication exclusively.
How to provide a direct login link for username and password Users
Organisations can now provide Users who log in with a username and password, a direct link to the specific login screen. This can be achieved by appending '/external' to the web address of the site.
For instance, if the URL of the site is https://yourcompany.kallidus-suite.com/, simply add '/external' to make it https://yourcompany.kallidus-suite.com/external. This direct link takes Users straight to the login page where they can enter their username and password, bypassing any intermediate steps.
Steps to Enable SSO Users to Bypass the Login Page
For Users utilising Single Sign-On (SSO), it's possible to provide a link that takes them directly into Kallidus products without having to choose between username/password or SSO login methods.
Here’s how to do it:
- Navigate to Manage Users:
- Scroll down to find the SSO Providers table
- Against each setup SSO provision is shown a Direct Login Link. This is the URL which will give direct access to the system for those users using that SSO provision. Copy and paste this.
- Share and update your links to the site with the new direct login link.
Important - be careful who you share the links with. Only those people associated with a particular SSO will be able to login using that login method. If a person without that access gets the link they will not be able to access the system using it.
