Recap - Peer-to-peer: How do you use and share reports?
Thanks to everyone who joined our recent peer‑to‑peer session on reporting. It was great to hear your achievements and the challenges you face when it comes to reporting.
Here’s a roundup of what we discussed:
Managing data and tailoring reports
- Fixed reports often show more information than managers should see, especially when HR fields are included.
- Saved views are helping teams share the data each group needs, however this doesn't hide sensitive data.
- Creating master custom reports and duplicating them for different audiences is an approach some attendees are using to share only the data required for specific stakeholders.
Upskilling managers to reduce admin
- Attendees shared how they use simple video walkthroughs, screen recordings, and drop‑in support sessions help managers learn the basics.
- These can be shared with managers in catalogues in Learn.
- Some have found hands‑on coaching to be the most effective way to build confidence in managers with using reporting.
Time‑saving reporting tips
- Bookmarking the URLs of saved views can cut down time finding data that is needed regularly.
- Reminders help prompt managers to check live dashboards instead of relying on exported files.
- Keeping notes on what data is included in each data set makes custom report building much quicker.
