    Hi Katy Streets
I have a few Group rules in place for new starters but I have to firstly ensure it only applies to new starters and doesn't get back dated and then I need to do things like check what team they are in or role they are in so as to allow the rule to know who to assign the courses to (which the group controls). I also have to exclude contractors so exclusions is indeed possible.

For the scenario you describe, keeping in mind you've said your feed does not have this data I would suggest you have a rule that uses the Group Name or Group ID as the Data field, then as operator “Does not match” with the variable being the group name / group code for those on ML / LTS.

If that does not work could you maybe look to see if there is a way to include the data in your feed in a different way, for example if you have an office option perhaps add a new value there of “N/A” for when people are on MLS / LTS which you update in your HR system and create the rule on Learn accordingly for everyone with an office status of “N/A”

    Hope this helps

    Thanks Paul,

Yes, I think a rule excluding anyone with a specific Group ID would be perfect, as I would rather not have to have to manually updated User Attributes, I think this would be the best solution. Updating people in a group will be much quicker for me than manually editing peoples profile information, so I can create a new group for the people I want to exclude.

Thanks your comment was so helpful! It is great to get some clarity from other users. Kallidus is great because there are often multiple ways you can do something you want to, but also then I get ‘too many options paralysis’ and not sure which is the best one :D
