We built our own in the end and restricted the view of the fixed reports for the very reason you describe. Too much information on them to use for some of our stakeholders and from a DP perspective I only want to share what is needed. If anybody has found a way then do let us know?

Hi Alison and Claire, thank you so much for your feedback! Currently, it's not possible to customize or restrict the fields within a fixed report in any way. A user-created report is the only solution for now.

In 2026, we'll look to make fixed reports more easily distributable across your range of stakeholders and their specific data needs. Stay tuned!

Thanks Omar! It's worth also noting that the Security model will ensure that a report viewer sees only the right people in a report. Columns cannot be removed from a fixed report, but you can control the users who are visible in the data.

So, for example, a manager will only see data for team members. View How the Security model ensures Users only see the right people in reports for more detail.

Also worth checking out is our recent webinar series Reporting permissions in Power BI: Key principles and beyond the basics, in which we dive into the weeds of the security model, what it does, and how to deal with the cases where it's too restrictive, and you need a different approach.

Thanks both for the update, If we can't have permission to remove these fields, could we at least have permission to deselect them from the filter so they just show as empty fields?

I don't want to have to rebuild your dashboards when they templates are already there and are great.

Hey Claire, that's a great suggestion! Did you add it to Airfocus yet? If not, please do - all feature requests are logged and reviewed via this route. Thank you!
