How you are using skills in your organisation?
Hi! I've been doing a lot of work on Skills recently as we've got so much new functionality being released.
I'd love to know how you are using skills in your organisation?
It would be great to hear what impact you've seen from implementing skills, or any challenges you've been facing. Is there any additional support we could give you, or any resources you've really benefitted from?
Let's chat in the comments!

We aren't using skills yet, but it is becoming a priority for us so would love to hear how other customers are using skills! For us this is new and of course skills is much broader than just L&D. I wonder if some case studies/ success stories could be useful, perhaps from customers who have/ started to embed skills within their orgs?

Jayne Longden Exciting stuff! We always recommend the Skills Readiness Journey eBook as a starting point - as you've said, skills is much broader than L&D and this really takes a holistic look at getting started.
Our Skills in Action series looked at 4 different example scenarios of organisations using skills to impact business outcomes and you can find the recordings in the Academy.
I've also just uploaded a recording of a webinar that has a number of different customers sharing their achievements with skills among other things. Its target audience was prospective customers, but there's a lot there that I think existing customers can learn from: Beyond compliance: How Kallidus is powering what's next
If you take a look at any of those resources, let me know what you think!

We've had our first initial chat with Shaun about Skills and while it made L&D tails wag, it clearly needs ‘selling’ to the business as the admin and time taken to collect the data to ensure Skills is being utilised effectively may be seen as taking time out of operational priorities. I fear it may be a long and lonely road for us on this one. Which is a heck of a shame because clearly, it's vital we understand the skill set of our people for succession planning and everything else that makes it business critical.

I think it's a great feature but we've not started using it yet. I know there's still a lot to be realeased (e.g the manager dashboard, the add my learning and self assessment for skills). I think we're going to wait it out until these features are released before looking at using them, as we currently don't have enough content to support skill boosting just from our LMS content. I also think it's hard for managers to be able to see what evidence people have when they submit skill increase requests without the dashboard.
