Kallidus Tip: How to Set Up Executive Reviews When You Hit a Management Loop
Hello Customer Community! 👋
Did you know… if your executives need to complete reviews for each other, you might hit a management loop if you try to set them up as each other’s manager?
Here’s the quick workaround:
✅ Use a “dummy” manager
Create a dummy user (or use an existing Admin account) as the temporary manager for all the executives.
This avoids the loop and lets you generate their reviews.
✅ Then delegate the reviews
Once the reviews exist, a Perform Admin can simply delegate each review to the correct executive.

Just wanted to pop an addition onto this about how to set up the ‘Dummy’ manager! :)
There are effectively two ways to do this:
1. Decide on an existing account which is part of your datafeed for the users to report into, and alter your datafeed so that the users report to this manager.
Once you've updated this in your datafeed, the change will be fed through into Perform overnight, allowing you to set up the review and delegate it to the appropriate person the next day.
This is an easy option that effectively automates the process and keeps you in control, but may or may not be possible, depending on management relationships in your system (we don't want to create a different loop!) and your HR platform/datafeed requirements.
2. Decide on an existing account which does not have to be part of your datafeed (or create one) to be the ‘dummy’ manager, and raise a ticket to SupportWe will then be able to set up the dummy account in Perform and assign it as the manager for these users in Learn and Perform. We'll let you know this is done, and you will then need to add the review and delegate it that day.
If you have a datafeed, the users' managers will be removed again/reverted during the overnight processing, so you will need to contact us each time you need to delegate the review. Option 1 is therefore probably best if this is expected to be a consistent need for your organisation! :)
