User accounts become locked out when a user failures to enter the correct username and password combination when trying to log into the system. The standard configuration is to allow 5 attempts before locking the account.
When the user gets enters the password incorrectly and when the account is locked, the user will see the below message or a very similar one on Classic LMS;
As an administrator, you can easily unlock the account by;
1. Administration > User
2. Locate the user who is locked out
3. Click the "Edit personal details" button - if this button does not appear for you, please take a look at this article.
4. In the new KIP window that opens click the "Unlock" button and "Save"
The user will now be able to reattempt log in. You may wish to help them reset their password at this stage too. They can either use the forgotten password link or you can change their password by clicking the "change" button seen in the above image.
